Dispute resolution
The Amanzi Bargaining Council is still in negotiations with the SALGBC to provide dispute resolution services for the ABC.
The CCMA has, in terms of Section 51(6) of the Labour Relations Act, agreed to provide all dispute resolution services for the Amanzi Bargaining Council until such time as the arrangements with the SALGBC have been finalised. Until such time all disputes for conciliation or arbitration must be referred to the CCMA for resolution.
Collective bargaining
One of the most important functions of the Council is to negotiate collectively on issues in respect of wages and terms and conditions of employment. Collective bargaining takes place in the Bargaining Committee, nominated by the parties. The matters for bargaining at central level and matters for bargaining at local level are agreed in the bargaining committee.
